Protocols are a set of script associated to "mode" buttons that are designed to simplify some specific segmentation steps. 

 

The scripts will insure that for each step, the sliceOmatic is placed in the correct mode with some usefull tools open and all the interface parameters set to help in the required step.

 

These scripts are located in a sub directory opf the sliceOmatic installation directory and are named "step_xx.scp".

 

By default, no protocols are installed along sliceOmatic.  You have to manually install them from the installation script found in the "Protocol" tab of sliceOmatic's web page, or if you are installing from a CD, from the list of available options when you install the program.
