If your data are from CSV files, having the "Position" class in the DB tree will cause the "Study info, Slice position" column of the database to be an index column.  All rows having the same values in their index columns are merged.

 

If your data are from MR Spectroscopy and this class is placed in the DB tree, there will be one instance of this class per series.

 

It is usually placed immediately after the study class and is used to differentiate between the physical location of a spectrocopy acquisition.
