DICOManage 1.0 TomoVison is a Medical Image Viewer for Windows 95/98/NT/2000/XP/Vista (tm). Installing DICOManage DICOManage does not require any special installation. Just copy the files in a directory of your choice and use it from there. The User's Manual Using DICOManage is quite straightforward. You can start the program by clicking on its icon. It will present you with an interface split in 3 vertical regions. In the left window, select the root directory of the tree containing the DICOM files you want to manage. In the middle window, you can see the list of files found by the program. You can sort this list according to the file's name, the study dates, the study ID, the patient's name or the patient's ID. Note: The first time you sort the files, the program has to analyze the headers of all the DICOM files, this may take some time. Subsequent sort are faster. You select files from this list. These files can then be copied to a new directory or pushed to a PACS. You need to use the "Config" button to specify the target directory for a copy operation, or the PACS information for a push operation. You also have some options for the audit trail that the program will create. The push operation use the OFFIS toolkit. The application does not do any transformations on the images, they are sent "as is". If the PACS is unable to recieve images in the same transfer syntax and Media Storage Class as the original image, the handshake will fail! If your directories contain non-dicom files, you will want to select "check valid DICOM files ?" in the "audit" configuration page. Creating a report file At the buttom of the list window, you have 3 buttons: A left arrow, a right arrow and a file Icon. Clicking on the left or right arrow expand or contract the entire tree. Clicking on the file button create 2 report files. A ".rtf" (rich Text Format) file compatible with most word processors and a ".csv" file (copmpatible with Excel) of the tree displayed in the list window. The ".csv" file will contain one line for each of the studies, series and images visible in the tree. If the tree is collapsed and only the studies are visible, then the file will only contain the studies lines. The files will be created in the "c\Temp" directory. Each sort order create its own file. The file's name is a merge of "Dir_", the sort order and the directory analysed by the program. By default the cells of this file are already defined for each study, series and image represented in the tree. You can change these default by creating 3 files in your installation directory: CSV_Template_Study.txt CSV_Template_Series.txt CSV_Template_Image.txt If a file is empty, then no line will be created for that level. The file must contain one line per DICOM tag information you want to see in the ".csv" file. That line must start with the DICOM tag ex: "(0008,0060) Modality", only the actual tag "(XXXX,YYYY)" is used, the rest of the line is skipped. Any line that does not start with a tag value (between paranethesis) will be disregarded. The files must not contain more than 100 tags each. You can have a "null" tag (0000,0000) to skip a cell. This is usefull if you want to align study, series and image tags for example. Finally, you can create a directory of your files by pressing the "d" key. The "e" keys will expand/contract the file's tree. The default csv lines are the equivalent of these 3 files: CSV_Template_Study.txt (0020,0010) Study ID (0008,0020) Study Date (0010,0010) Patient Name (0010,0020) Patient ID (0008,0060) Modality (0000,0000) Skipping "series" tags (0000,0000) Skipping "series" tags (0000,0000) Skipping "image" tags CSV_Template_Series.txt (0000,0000) Skipping "study" tags (0000,0000) Skipping "study" tags (0000,0000) Skipping "study" tags (0000,0000) Skipping "study" tags (0000,0000) Skipping "study" tags (0020,0011) Series ID (0008,103E) Series Description (0000,0000) Skipping "image" tags (0000,0000) Skipping "number of series" info CSV_Template_Image.txt (0000,0000) Skipping "study" tags (0000,0000) Skipping "study" tags (0000,0000) Skipping "study" tags (0000,0000) Skipping "study" tags (0000,0000) Skipping "study" tags (0000,0000) Skipping "series" tags (0000,0000) Skipping "series" tags (0020,0013) Image Number (0000,0000) Skipping "number of series" info (0000,0000) Skipping "number of files" info Distributing You are encouraged to pass a copy of TomoVision along to your friends.
