Mode ROI

In this mode, you can limit the volume affected by the "Edit" operations by adjusting 6 clip planes orthogonal to the 3 main axis.  Any voxels outside the region of interest will not be affected by the edit operations.

This mode also let you sub-sample the volume to get faster interaction time.  Even with a powerful graphic card, manipulating millions of voxels can not always be accomplish in real time.  But sub-sampling the volume, you can improve these performances.

From the Graphic Interface

Direction

You can set clip planes in all 3 directions (X-Y-Z), the direction buttons enable you to see the volume from the 3 main axis.

Clip plane sliders

You can adjust 4 clip planes.  Depending on the selected "Direction" these will be in X, Y or Z.  The clip planes are shown i yellow on the displayed frame.  the portion of the frame outside the clip planes is colored red.

Note:

The displayed frame used the current color sheme to show the frame.  This can be changed through the "Color Scheme" tool or with the "F1" to "F4" keys.

Frame slider

This slider let you change the frame displayed in the clip plane view.  The displayed frame can also be changed with the mouse wheel in the image window.

Sub-sampling

Sub-sampling enable you to reduce the number of voxels that the program works on.  This will enable you to get real-time interaction with big volumes even with a lesser graphic card.

Normal

1x1x1  or, each displayed voxel is the same as the original voxel

Fast

2x2x2  or, each displayed voxel is  a combination of 8 original volxels

Faster

3x3x3  or, each displayed voxel is  a combination of 27 original volxels

Fastest

4x4x4  or, each displayed voxel is  a combination of 64 original volxels

From the Display Area

The mouse wheel can be used to changed the displayed frame.  The currently displayed frame will be highlighted (in orange) on the 3D window in the display area.
